New York Jets (0-1, 0-0 Away) vs. Cleveland Browns (1-0, 0-0 Home)
Date: Sunday, September 18, 2022
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET
Venue: FirstEnergy Stadium — Cleveland, OH

The New York Jets will be looking to avoid a dreaded 0-2 start when they travel to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 NFL action. Head coach Robert Saleh's team fell to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 by a score of 24-9 as their inability to finish off drives with touchdowns caught up to them.
Meanwhile, the Browns snuck out of Bank of America stadium with a 26-24 road win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. Cleveland leaned on its strong rushing attack (39 carries, 217 yards, 5.6-yard average) to get the job done and rookie kicker Cade York drilled a 58-yard field goal as time expired.

The Browns enter this contest as a clear favorite on the moneyline and the spread. This 1 p.m. ET clash also features one of the lower projected totals (40.5) on the NFL Week 2 slate.
Jets vs Browns Prediction & Pick
The injury to starting quarterback Zach Wilson has left the Jets with veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback. His first-quarter interception on Sunday gave Baltimore an early chance to take the lead. Once that happened, he struggled to lead New York on scoring drives the rest of the way.
Jacoby Brissett is by no means an elite QB either, but at least Cleveland has a stellar defense and run game backing him up. Grant Delpit nabbed an interception in Week 1 and Myles Garrett posted two sacks. If the Browns can get to Flacco and make him uncomfortable in the pocket, this one could be over before halftime.
Final Score Prediction: Browns: 24 | Jets: 13
Jets vs Browns Betting Trends
- The Jets are 0-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven games in September.
- The total has hit the over in 10 of the Jets' last 15 games.
- Cleveland is 5-1 straight up in its last six games in September.
- The total has hit the under in four of Cleveland's last five games against the Jets.
Jets vs Browns Best Bet

This total is low, but it is low for a reason. Cleveland's tendency to run the football leaves the clock running more often than not. That is especially the case when the Browns are leading by at least a touchdown, which is an expected outcome here. Nick Chubb is going to push the Jets to their limits.
The under has hit in four of the last five games between these two teams and five of Cleveland's last six home games overall. New York would have to put up at least two scores to have this total hit the over and that seems unlikely with Flacco at the helm. Back the under with confidence on Sunday.
Bet: Under 40.5 Points (-110)
