Jalen Ramsey Eyes Eventual Position Change

While the Los Angeles Rams offense took a step back in 2020, the defense was as good as we've seen in years. In fact, Los Angeles ranked with the No. 1 pass defense across in the NFL, only allowing 281.9 yards per game through the air.

Two-time All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey played another big role in this shutdown pass defense. While he remains one of the best lockdown corners in the league, Ramsey has bigger plans. In fact, the 26-year-old defender is eyeing an eventual position change. The reasoning? He'd like to channel his inner Charles Woodson.

Ramsey recently shared that he'd like to eventually move to safety full time. Last year, the Rams used their versatile defensive back in multiple sets including nickel and even some box safety, although he operated mainly from his corner position.

But, the young stud defender said he views himself more as true defensive back and capable of playing anywhere in the secondary. Ramsey alluded to Hall of Fame defensive back Charles Woodson as part of his motivations behind this potential move.

Woodson played 18 seasons during his Hall-of-Fame NFL career. The nine-time Pro Bowler spent 14 of those years playing at corner, but moved to safety the last four seasons of his career. In total, Woodson racked up more than 1,200 tackles in his career and 65 interceptions.

When it comes to defensive backs to model a career after, Ramsey couldn't have picked a better option than Woodson.
