Ja Morant Stats
Ja Morant's rise to national stardom has been swift. The Murray State product exploded as a sophomore, averaging 24.5 points per game (PPG) and 10.0 assists per game (APG) while shooting 49.9 percent from the floor. He also became the first player to average at least 20.0 PPG and 10.0 APG since 1983-84.
While Morant has some eye-popping numbers, his athletic ability might be even more intriguing. With plenty of thunderous dunks and explosive crossovers, Morant has deservedly drawn comparisons to Russell Westbrook. Morant's athleticism makes him a dynamic threat in both transition and half-court offense.
However, despite posting solid shooting numbers, Morant's outside shot can be a little shaky at times, though he shot 81.3 percent from the free-throw line last year, so there's reason for optimism. Cutting down on the 5.2 turnovers he averaged per game last season should be Morant's primary focus. If Morant can improve his shooting and decision-making, he could be a perennial All-Star in the NBA.

Ja Morant NBA Draft Predictions
New Orleans Pelicans (No. 1), Memphis Grizzlies (No. 2)
Barring a trade, it would be stunning if Morant were to fall out of the first two picks. While conventional wisdom suggests the New Orleans Pelicans will almost certainly take Zion Williamson with the No. 1 pick, Morant is talented enough to give him a run for his money. Morant could also be a devastating force for New Orleans by running the pick and roll with Anthony Davis, provided AD stays in the Big Easy.
However, Morant will most likely end up with the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 2 overall as the heir apparent to Mike Conley Jr. Morant's athleticism provides him the opportunity to be a plus defender at the NBA level, and early reports are indicating Memphis is interested in him.
