Are the Hornets in the Playoffs?

No, the Hornets are not officially in the NBA Playoffs yet. They have clinched a berth in the NBA Play-In Tournament, which means they'll need to fight for the chance to make the first round.

They will be joined by three other squads in the play-in tournament -- the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks -- and only two teams of out of the four participants will make the playoffs.

What Seed Are the Hornets

Charlotte is the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament. They will face the 9th seed Atlanta Hawks in Game 3 of the play-in tournament. If they win in that game, they would then play the loser of the 7th seed vs 8th seed matchup. The winner of that final game would then be the official 8th seed in the first round of the playoffs.

Who Will the Charlotte Hornets Play in the Playoffs?

The Hornets will need to play at least two play-in games to determine their first round round. If they win the first play-in game as the 10th seed, they'll then face the loser of the 7th vs 8th seed matchup for the final spot in the first round. That second game will determine who is advancing as the 8th seed in the first round, and who is going home.

If the Hornets claim the 8th seed, they'd face the 1-seed Miami Heat in the first round.

The NBA Playoffs have not started yet. The NBA Play-In Tournament is set to take place April 12-15 ahead of the start of the first round on April 16. Charlotte needs to secure a spot in the playoffs by advancing through the play-in tourney.
