4 Greatest Outfielders in Brewers History

Added during the 1969 American League West inclusion, the Milwaukee Brewers franchise bounced around divisions before settling in the National League Central in 1998. The relatively short history of this ball club has seen its fair share of talents, but they've yet to win a championship.

In the outfield, the Brewers have had a few standouts over their history. These four are currently the best in Milwaukee baseball history, although Christian Yelich looks to be on the fast track to earning himself a spot on this list as well.

4. Geoff Jenkins, LF/RF (1998-2007)

A Brewers fan favorite during his stretch with the team, Geoff Jenkins had a big bat that earned him the fourth spot on the franchise home run list and fifth on the RBI list. He also ranks fifth in slugging and ninth in total WAR for the club. A member of the Miller Park Wall of Fame and an All-Star, Geoff Jenkins was a household name for Brewers fans.

3. Ben Oglivie, LF (1978-86)

If Ben Oglivie had not split his career into different places, he might be higher on this list. The slugger ranks eighth in Brewers offensive WAR, seventh in homers and sixth in RBI. He was a three-time All-Star with the franchise, as well as a Silver Slugger and the American League Home Run leader in 1980.

2. Ryan Braun, LF (2007-present)

When his career began, many thought Ryan Braun would become the greatest outfielder in Brewers history and possibly even the greatest Brewer of all-time. With a Rookie of the Year Award, a National League MVP, a Home Run title, five Silver Sluggers and six All-Star appearance by 2015, the Milwaukee slugger was certainly on his way. Then things began to deteriorate after a steroid allegation upended Braun's career, however. Third in most Brewers hitting categories aside from home runs (on which he is first by a huge margin), Braun may never surpass the next man on this list like he was once expected to.

1. Robin Yount, CF (1974-93)

Also known for his time as a shortstop, Robin Yount is probably the greatest Milwaukee Brewers player to date, regardless of position. Ranking first in a ton of the franchise's all-time offensive statistics, including WAR (offensive and total), games played, hits, runs scored, RBI and more, as well as third in defensive WAR, Yount was a complete player for this franchise. He was also a three-time All-Star, two-time American League MVP, three-time Silver Slugger, one-time Gold Glover and career Brewer. He had his No. 19 retired by the franchise, and in 1999, Yount became a member of the MLB Hall of Fame as a first-ballot inductee.
