3 Greatest Outfielders in Orioles History

While the Baltimore Orioles have put together just four winning seasons since 2000, the franchise still has a storied history. Many tremendous players have suited up for the O's over the years, especially in the outfield.

These are the three greatest outfielders in Orioles history.

3. Frank Robinson (1966-1971)

Becoming the leader in the clubhouse, Frank Robinson joined the Orioles via a trade from the Cincinnati reds. In his first year in Baltimore he won the AL MVP award, making him the first player to ever win MVP in both leagues. That '66 season was truly an incredible one for Robinson, as he won the Triple Crown and was World Series MVP as the Orioles won the first World Series in franchise history. The team made another three World Series appearances (winning one) during Robinson's six years in Baltimore.

2. Adam Jones (2008-2018)

Adam Jones had an incredibly productive 11-year stretch with the Orioles. He won four Gold Gloves, one Silver Slugger and was voted to five All-Star teams in Baltimore. Jones' 263 home runs rank second all-time among Orioles outfielders, as do his 875 runs scored and 866 RBI.

1. Paul Blair (1964-1976)

Paul Blair played center field next to Robinson during the Orioles' outstanding run in the 1960's and 70's. He excelled defensively, winning eight Gold Gloves in Baltimore, including seven in a row from 1969-75. His speed in the outfield translated to base running too, as he totaled 167 stolen bases, which still ranks No. 8 in franchise history. Blair ranks third all-time among Orioles outfielders in Wins Above Replacement (WAR), and in 1984 he was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame.
