Jaguars Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season
The Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign is a road game agains the Indianapolis Colts. Last season, they opened with a road game against the Washington Commanders. Unfortunately, the Jags fell 28-22 after a fourth-quarter comeback by Washington.
Jaguars' 2023 Strength of Schedule
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Jaguars have the ninth-easiest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 campaign. This is based on the projected win totals of Jacksonville's opponents for the upcoming season.
The Jaguars' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 121-113-2 last season. They'll face a trio of teams in the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers that won at least 13 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Jaguars at 9.5 wins, with -150 on the over and +122 on the under. Jacksonville posted nine victories in 2022, its most since a 10-win campaign in 2017.
Though the Jags are projected to have an easier schedule, they're facing several non-playoff teams that should be improved in 2023. The Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints both got better this offseason, while the Cleveland Browns will benefit from having Deshaun Watson active for the entire year. Jacksonville also benefited from a cupcake schedule down the stretch of last season and nearly lost to the ailing Tennessee Titans in Week 18.
This team is undoubtedly talented, but a lot has to go right for this young squad to secure 10 wins in the loaded AFC.
Bet – Jaguars: Under 9.5 Wins (+122)
In the Super Bowl market, the Jaguars currently have the 10th-best odds at +2500. They only trail the Kansas City Chiefs (+600), Philadelphia Eagles (+850), Buffalo Bills (+900), San Francisco 49ers (+950), Cincinnati Bengals (+1000), Dallas Cowboys (+1400), New York Jets (+1400), Baltimore Ravens (+1800) and Detroit Lions (+2200).
