Dolphins Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season
The Miami Dolphins will head on the road to face the Los Angeles in Week 1 of the 2023-24 campaign. Last season, they opened with a home game against the New England Patriots. Fortunately, Tua Tagovailoa & co. hardly broke a sweat, cruising to a 20-7 victory against their division rivals.
Dolphins' 2023 Strength of Schedule
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Dolphins have the fifth-hardest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 campaign. This is based on the projected win totals of Miami's opponents for the upcoming season. The Dolphins will face a tall task given their upcoming slate, as just two teams (Chiefs, Bengals) made the playoffs last year with a top-10 schedule in terms of difficulty.
The Dolphins' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 130-105-2 last season. They drew a tough list of opponents that's headlined by the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles — the defending Super Bowl Champions and the runners-up, respectively.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Dolphins at 9.5 wins, with -110 on the over and -110 on the under. Miami has only won 10 games twice since the 2009 NFL season, but has finished with exactly nine in each of the last two campaigns.
Winning 10 games looks like it could be a struggle again for the Dolphins even after their offseason improvements. On top of facing both of last year's Super Bowl teams, they have to play the Buffalo Bills twice as well as the challenging trio of the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Chargers. That's not even to mention teams that are in good spots to bounce back like the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.
While the Dolphins are talented enough to reach double-digit wins, the fifth-hardest schedule will be too much to handle.
Bet – Dolphins: Under 9.5 Wins (-110)
In the Super Bowl market, the Dolphins currently are tied (with the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets) for the 10th-best odds at +2500. Those odds rank third-best among Miami's fellow AFC East teams, trailing the Bills (+900, No. 3) and Jets (+1400, T-No. 6).
