Cardinals Primetime Games 2023
The Cardinals are one of four NFL teams (Texans, Colts and Falcons) to not have a single primetime game during the 2023-24 campaign.
Cardinals Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season
The Arizona Cardinals' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign is a road game against the Washington Commanders. Last season, they opened with a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cardinals didn't even come close to hanging with the eventual Super Bowl Champions, falling 44-21 in an absolute blowout.
Cardinals' 2023 Strength of Schedule
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Cardinals have the 12th-hardest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 campaign. This is based on the projected win totals of Arizona's opponents for the upcoming season. The Cardinals will face a tall task given their upcoming slate, as just three teams (Chiefs, Bengals, Seahawks) made the playoffs last year with a top-12 schedule in terms of difficulty.
The Cardinals' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 121-113-3 last season. They'll face a quartet of teams in the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Bengals that won at least 12 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Cardinals at 4.5 wins, with -102 on the over and -122 on the under. Although Arizona has surpassed that number in three of the past four seasons, it failed to do so with a four-win showing in 2022.
While four wins is a low bar to reach, I don't see the Cardinals being good enough to hit the Over. For starters, they had the second-worst scoring defense in 2022 and that'll only get worse this fall after losing the likes of J.J. Watt and Zach Allen. Meanwhile, on offense, there's no telling when quarterback Kyler Murray will be ready to play after his ACL tear, leaving things in the hands of journeyman QB Colt McCoy.
With it also being Jonathan Gannon's first-ever campaign as an NFL head coach, there'll likely be some serious growing pains. All in all, I expect the Cardinals to be as bad as they were in 2022, if not worse.
Bet – Cardinals: Under 4.5 Wins (-122)
In the Super Bowl market, the Cardinals currently are tied with the Houston Texans for the worst odds league-wide at +18000.
