Bears Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season
The Chicago Bears' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign takes place at home against the rival Green Bay Packers. Last season, they opened with a home game on Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers. The Bears emerged victorious by a score of 19-10 as quarterback Justin Fields tallied 2 passing touchdowns.
Bears' 2023 Strength of Schedule
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Bears have the fifth-easiest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 season. This is based on the projected win totals of Chicago's opponents for the upcoming campaign. That bodes well for the Bears' chance of success considering six of the teams with a top-seven schedule in terms of ease last year secured a postseason berth.
The Bears' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 113-124-1 last season. They'll face a trio of teams in the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders that lost at least 11 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Bears at 7.5 wins, with -118 odds on the over and -104 odds on the under. Chicago only posted three wins during the 2022-23 season, but has racked up at least eight victories in eight of the last 15 NFL campaigns.
The Bears took advantage of the fact that they had a top-10 draft pick as well as the most available cap space heading into the offseason. Chicago signed linebacker T.J. Edwards to fortify the defense, brought in running back D'Onta Foreman to replace David Montgomery and drafted Darnell Wright to upgrade the offensive line. Quarterback Justin Field now has the players around him to take a leap in year two, especially considering he will face nine teams this fall that posted a losing record in 2022.
Bet – Bears: Over 7.5 Wins (-118)
In the Super Bowl market, the Bears currently are tied (with the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders) for the sixth-worst odds at +6000. They only rank ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+7500) and Arizona Cardinals (+18000) in the NFC.
