FanDuel DFS Picks & Lineup for Play-In Tournament Games on 4/12/23 (Trust SGA to Torch Pels Again)
Updated:
The 2022-23 NBA Playoffs are here. If you need some advice on your FanDuel fantasy basketball lineup for tonight's slate, The Duel is here to help.
Here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 4/12 NBA DFS action.
FanDuel DFS Picks Tonight 4/11/2023
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Fantasy
Target Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, PG/SG, Oklahoma City Thunder ($10,800): Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off of a career year for the Oklahoma City Thunder, posting his personal best in PPG (31.4) while adding 5.5 APG and 4.8 RPG. One team the do-it-all guard had his way with during the regular season was these same New Orleans Pelicans, whom SGA averaged 33.5 PPG, 8.0 RPG and 4.3 APG against in four meetings. The 2023 All-Star is the heart and soul of this young Thunder team, so they'll rely on him more than ever with their postseason lives hanging in the balance. Expect the triple-double threat to be heavily involved in all parts of the box score for OKC tonight.
CJ McCollum Fantasy
Target CJ McCollum, SG/PG, New Orleans Pelicans ($8,600): With Zion Williamson still sidelined, the Pelicans will have just two 20+ PPG scorers available: Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum. In a do-or-die game, head coach Willie Green is going to tighten his rotation and keep his best players on the court. That means McCollum should have even more opportunities to thrive as a scorer and playmaker for an offense in desperate need of both aspects. The Thunder are an ideal opponent for the guard to have a big night against considering their middle-of-the-pack defense and fast-paced style of play that creates extra possessions.
Patrick Beverley Fantasy
Target Patrick Beverley, PG, Chicago Bulls ($5,000): The shorter rotations that naturally come in playoffs result in value plays being harder to find at this price point, but Patrick Beverley's starting role makes him the perfect target. He's averaging a healthy 27.5 minutes per game since joining the Bulls, enjoying a slight uptick from his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. Though he's not an electric scorer, the veteran guard contributes in a multitude of ways that are fantasy-friendly. Just look at his last two games from the regular season. Despite not achieving double digits in any category (aside from minutes), Beverley posted a combined 61.2 FanDuel fantasy points. Don't pass this kind of value up.
Scottie Barnes Fantasy
Avoid Scottie Barnes, PF/SF, Toronto Raptors ($7,600): Scottie Barnes is an intriguing option with his all-around skillset, but his consistency has dragged him down from any kind of fantasy stardom. The second-year forward has a 40-point fantasy outing over his last four games, but he recorded under 17 fantasy points in the other three contests. This small stretch exemplifies the hot-and-cold nature of Barnes' nightly box scores, so it's wise to fade him with other targets available.
Nikola Vucevic Fantasy
Avoid Nikola Vucevic, C, Chicago Bulls ($8,500): Nikola Vucevic's ceiling simply isn't high enough to spend this much of your budget on him. He hasn't posted 40 FanDuel fantasy points in a game since March, and now the rebound-reliant big man is facing a Toronto squad that ranked No. 10 in fewest RPG allowed this season. Vooch also struggled against the Raptors last time out, mustering just 5 boards following Toronto's deadline addition of Jakob Poeltl. There are enough concerns here to avoid Vucevic on Wednesday.
