Falcons Announce Major Shakeup to Their Front Office

Updated:

Entering the year with Marcus Mariota under center, there weren't many high expectations for the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. The team played pretty up to standard, winning 7 of their 17 games. But this marks five straight losing seasons without a playoff berth.

On Monday, the Falcons announced a major shakeup to the front office. Not one that some in the fanbase have been calling for, however.

The Falcons have named Greg Beadles as team president and he's set to take charge of running the business side of operations. Current team president and CEO Rich McKay will hang onto his latter duties with a specific oversight on the football side of operations.

McKay has been in charge of this position since 2011 and already gone through a number of failures in the position. He, and his staff, completely mishandled the Matt Ryan situation last offseason. Aside from their magical Super Bowl run in 2016, the team has only made the playoffs four times in his tenure and been accompanied by eight seasons with a .500 or sub-.500 record.

Beadles has been a longtime member of the organization for 25+ years. He was promoted to COO in March of last year before taking on this new role.
