Drew Timme 2023 NBA Draft Profile (Combine Results, Measurements & Scouting Report for Older Prospect)
Updated:
Gonzaga's Drew Timme enters the 2023 NBA Draft as one of the more seasoned prospects available. After dazzling fans for four years with the Bulldogs, time will tell if Timme has more success at the NBA level.
Here's everything you need to know about Drew Timme before the 2023 NBA Draft.
Drew Timme Scouting Report and Draft Prediction
Timme saved his best season at Gonzaga for last, averaging new career highs in points (21.2), rebounds (7.5), and two-point percentage (63.8%). Not only was he named WCC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, but he also earned consensus first-team All-American honors for the first time.
Once Timme is in the paint and gets the ball in his hands, he's incredibly difficult to stop. Although he's not primarily a playmaker, he has no issue taking a break from scoring to set his teammates up, proven by his 3.2 APG clip last season. He also has a great personality that should mesh well with any locker room he joins.
Timme isn't that athletic, though. He's going to have a tough time guarding quicker players, which is bad news considering he isn't that great defensively in the first place. Timme also isn't a great three-point shooter and that could hold him back seeing as how most of today's NBA power forwards can shoot well.Being an older prospect (22) doesn't work in his favor, either.
As great as his collegiate career was, I won't be shocked if Timme goes undrafted. While the inside scoring ability is there, his lack of athleticism and three-point success are too glaring to ignore. He'll need to work extra hard to prove that he deserves a spot in the NBA, so look for Timme to try reaching his goal via the undrafted route.
Prediction: Undrafted
