Updated (Monday, June 6, 11:20 a.m. ET): Draymond Green received another technical in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. That's his fourth technical in 18 postseason appearances this year.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is known as one of the most outspoken players on and off of the court. That penchant to speak his mind has gotten him in trouble with NBA referees, resulting in the All-Star annually being among the league leaders in technical fouls.

With a few techs to his name already this playoffs, there's the potential for Green to be suspended if his total continues to climb in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

How Many Techs Did Draymond Green Get This Season?

Green was once again near the top of the leaderboard in technical fouls during the 2021-22 regular season. He ended up tied for fifth, along with Carmelo Anthony and Karl-Anthony Towns, after racking up 14 techs. Players earn an automatic one-game suspension once they hit 16 technicals in the regular season, so Green came in just under that number.

How Many Techs Does Draymond Green Have in the Playoffs?

Green's outspoken nature has continued to get the refs' attention in the playoffs. He earned a technical in the first round against the Denver Nuggets after he poked Nikola Jokic in the eye and then exchanged words with Aaron Gordon.

Green then received technicals in back-to-back games during the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. He picked one up in Game 2 for arguing a call, then again in Game 3 after he protested a questionable over-and-back violation.

So Green's current tech count stands at three in the 2022 postseason ahead of the Finals.

How Many Technical Fouls Before Suspension in NBA Playoffs?

NBA players have a shorter leash in the playoffs when it comes to technicals. Warnings are issued after five total technical fouls, and total of seven techs results in an automatic one-game suspension (compared to 16 in the regular season).

With Green already at three technicals this playoff, four more would cause him to miss a game during the NBA Finals.

How Many Flagrant Fouls Before Suspension in NBA Playoffs?

Technicals aren't the only worry in regards to Green and a potential suspension. The forward also picked up a Flagrant 2 foul in the second round against the Memphis Grizzlies for pulling opposing big man Brandon Clarke to the floor.

Since this was a Flagrant 2, and not downgraded to the lesser Flagrant 1, Green has accumulated two flagrant points so far this postseason. Players receive an automatic one-game suspension if they surpass three flagrant points during the playoffs. This means one more Flagrant 2 or two Flagrant 1 fouls would trigger a suspension.

Draymond Green NBA Finals Suspension 2016

Green was infamously suspended during the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was forced to miss Game 5 after recording his earning his fourth flagrant point of those playoffs following a Flagrant 1 foul in Game 4.

Since he was already at the maximum of three flagrant points before that incident, that foul pushed him over the top and trigged a one-game suspension. His Game 5 absence allowed the Cavaliers to make the series 3-2, and Cleveland ended up winning the series 4-3 in seven games.
