Dark Horse Picks to Win PGA 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on FanDuel Sportsbook

Updated:

The PGA Tour continues its West Coast swing up the coast to beautiful Malibu for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The tournament is the second Pro-Am event in three weeks, and three stunning courses are on the schedule for 156 players at this week's event.

- Pebble Beach Golf Links - 6,972 yards, Par 72
- Spyglass Hill - 7,041 yards, Par 72
- Monterey Peninsula CC - 6,957, Par 71

Poa Annua greens are in play again this week along with the smallest average size greens (3,500 sq ft) on Tour at Pebble Beach.

Seven of the top 50 players in the world rankings are in the field. That includes Viktor Hovland (+1000), FanDuel Ambassador Jordan Spieth (+850) and fellow major championship winner Matt Fitzpatrick (+1000) and 2022 Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner Tom Hoge (+1700).

Following wins by dark horses and longshot winners Max Homa in the Farmers Insurance Open and Adam Svensson in the RSM Classic, let's see if we can chip in another dark horse winner or cash in for a top-10 or top-20 finish.

Beyond the favorites, there are plenty of capable longshots and dark horses that could make a run at the leaderboard and come away with a higher finish or victory on Sunday. Check out AT&T Pebble Beach odds to win along with finishing position odds, tournament matchups and golf props on FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Nick Taylor (+7000)

Nick Taylor finished T-14 here last year and won the tournament in 2020 shooting an opening 63 on his way to a -19 under-par finish. Taylor also ranks top-10 in this field in Strokes Gained: Total. He's been hit and miss and his stats don't offer much encouragement, but he did finish 6th at the Sony Open in mid-January and returns to shorter courses where he's played well.

2. Russell Knox (+7500)

Russell Knox is a shorter course specialist who can go well if the wind blows as well. The very short-hitting 37-year-old Scot has three top-15 finishes here in the last five years including T-7 in 2021. Knox ranks top-10 in this field in SG: Approach, which is of more significance this week with smaller greens and Knox is one of the stronger players this week in Greens-in-Regulation. In his last two appearances in this event, Knox has gained at least 4.0-strokes on Approach and Tee-to-Green.

3. Ben Griffin (+5500)

Ben Griffin is a rookie on the rise who has finished top-35 in seven starts this 2022-23 season including a T-3 in his fourth PGA Tour start. The 26-year-old is best on shorter, wedge-heavy courses, and he can surely go better than his T-31 last week at very long Torrey Pines when he had one blowup round. Griffin has five straight tourneys of solid Strokes Gained stats across the board, and his first go around at Pebble Beach and in this event can be a very good one.
