Dan Campbell Gives Deranged Quote During Introductory Press Conference

The Detroit Lions have gotten their 2021 offseason started by hiring New Orleans Saints assistant and tight ends coach as their next head coach. Detroit will hope to turn over a new leaf following the disastrous end to the Matt Patricia era.

Campbell is clearly embracing a hard-nosed mentality for the Lions during his tenure, as evidenced by his deranged quote during his introductory press conference.

Campbell is surely trying to tap into Detroit's strong-willed roots, but he seems to think the city is a walking Mortal Kombat match.

It's certainly a bold statement to come out with in his first public appearance as Lions head coach, but perhaps it'll endear him to the team's fans, who have seen Detroit get bullied by their NFC North rivals for years.

Campbell played for the Lions in the last three years of his career as well, so he's already been invested in the division and knows what Detroit has to do in order to compete.

This is Campbell's first official stop as an NFL head coach after previously serving in the role on an interim basis during the 2015 season. He's sending a message about the team under his guidance on Day 1.
