Can LIV Golfers Play in the PGA Championship? (Full List of Participants in 2023 Tournament)

LIV Golf has been up and running for close to a year now, acting as the top competitor to the PGA Tour. That's because many golfers left the PGA Tour to join LIV, including Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and more.

With LIV being the PGA Tour's chief rival, many golf fans are curious if LIV golfers are allowed to compete at the PGA Championship this week.

Are LIV Golfers Allowed to Play in the PGA Championship?

Yes, LIV golfers are able to play in the PGA Championship. While they are banned from PGA Tour events, the PGA Championship is a Major and does not qualify as such. That means LIV golfers are allowed to participate in the PGA Championship as well as the other three Majors (The Open, US Open, and Masters).

Part of the reason is that former PGA Championship winners have a lifetime exemption for the tournament, meaning they can play in the tournament whenever they want and do not have to qualify for it. That means previous champs and current LIV golfers Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka get an automatic entry into the tournament if they desire.

As for non-PGA Championship winners, LIV golfers who have won a major in the last five years or ranked top 50 in the last year's final world golf rankings are also able to participate.

Which LIV Golfers are Playing in the PGA Championship?

Based on the above criteria, 17 LIV players are slated to tee it up at Oak Hill this week. The list is in alphabetical order below and includes each player's odds to win the PGA Championship at FanDuel Sportsbook.
