Metropolitans 92's Bilal Coulibaly enters the 2023 NBA Draft as an interesting prospect. Although his 2022-23 stats weren't the most impressive, he could still develop into a solid NBA player with the right surrounding environment.

Bilal Coulibaly suited up in 27 games during the 2022-23 campaign. He averaged 5.0 points on .532/.452/.595 shooting splits. Having said that, he earned more playing time as the season went on, leading to his averaging 8.9 PPG on 50.8% shooting while playing 27 minutes per contest in the playoffs.

Although Coulibaly stands at 6-foot-6, his reported wingspan is over seven feet which helps make him a credible defender, which has scouts excited. He knows how to shoot the ball well when open and isn't afraid to drive to the basket in transition. He's also only 18 years old, giving him a bigger window to improve.

He isn't a perfect prospect, though. For starters, he hasn't played a ton of basketball, only joining the Metropolitans five months ago. He isn't the best at creating his own shots, either, and also shot just 23.8% from the three-point line in the LNB Pro A playoffs.

I wouldn't be shocked if Coulibaly joins the Oklahoma City Thunder as the No. 12 overall pick. Sports Illustrated reported earlier this week that Thunder general manager Sam Presti traveled to France to watch Coulibaly in the playoffs. An NBA GM certainly wouldn't make that trip just for fun.

With the Thunder having five first-round draft picks in the next two drafts alone, there's no reason why they shouldn't take a swing on Coulibaly. If he winds up not panning out, he can still be a solid 3 & D role player. But if he can reach his ceiling, the Thunder will be a better team for years to come.
