Top WR for Fantasy Football

Wide receivers will rival running backs this season for the amount early-round draft capital spent on the position. That's no major surprise given the gaudy numbers some of the top options put up last season and overall depth of intriguing options available.

It'll certainly cost drafters to nab a star wideout. Average draft position (ADP) data on FantasyPros shows eight WRs as locks to be off the board by the end of round two, so it's imperative for managers to identify top-tier or fallback options they want to take given the competition for pass-catchers.

7. Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers

Deebo Samuel's dual-threat production propelled him to a WR3 finish in PPR scoring last season. Despite hauling in only 77 receptions (T-No. 21 among WRs), Samuel ranked No. 5 with 1,405 receiving yards, showcasing his propensity for ripping off big plays. The South Carolina product also got plenty of run down the stretch out of the backfield, and he ended the year with 8 rushing TDs to go along with his 6 scores as a pass-catcher. Though Samuel may ease upon his rushing load in 2022, he still averaged 10.1 targets, 6.1 receptions and 110.3 yards over the first eight games of last year, so he can put up star numbers even without backfield usage. Last season's WR2 in PPR scoring is now in a new home. Davante Adams will reunite with college teammate Derek Carr this season after a scorching run catching passes from Aaron Rodgers. Adams tied for the second-most targets among wideouts in 2021, which he turned into 123 receptions (No. 2), 1,553 yards (No. 3) and 11 TDs (No. 5). The major question is if he can rival those numbers with a non-Rodgers QB and in an offense that features more competiton for targets with the likes of Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller on board. 1. Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams

No surprise here. Cooper Kupp went supernova last season with new quarterback Matthew Stafford, ranking as WR1 with 439.5 PPR points, over 100 points more than the next-closest wideout (344.3 by Davante Adams). Kupp captured the WR crown by ranking No. 1 in targets (191), receptions (145), yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16), showcasing his prolific talents. His numbers may fall slightly after such an outburst, but his connection with Stafford and ability to rip off big plays after the catch is undeniable.
