Best QB for Fantasy Football: 2022 Quarterback Rankings

Updated:
Top QB for Fantasy Football
Nailing the quarterback position is vital in fantasy football drafts. The risky, and sometimes fruitless, grind of streaming QBs on a weekly basis can be avoided by nabbing one of the top-tier options at the start of the season.
Though skill-position players will fly off of the board early on in most formats, FantasyPros' average draft position (ADP) data shows some QBs going as early as the third round. ADP also highlights top QBs as popuplar middle-round choices, so managers must have a solid strategy in place to avoid missing out on a run at the position during drafts.
The Duel is here to help. Check out our 2022 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks.

16. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings
15. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
14. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers
It's the Trey Lance Show in San Francisco this season. He's now the starter in a high-powered offense that ranked No. 5 in points per game and No. 11 in total yards. Managers got a glimpse of Lance's potential when he made two starts in 2021, putting up 14.58 and 19.06 fantasy points in those games, respectively. Lance also racked up 20.38 points in Week 4 when he started the second half in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo. During those 2.5 starts, Lance put up 598 passing yards and 4 TDs along with 161 rushing yards. That dual-threat skill set in a run-heavy San Francisco offense gives him plenty of fantasy potential, but there's no telling how he'll look as a full-time starter over an entire season.

7. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts shocked many last year when he ended up as the QB9 in points scored. Hurts' unexpected rise was thanks to huge rushing production that elevated his weekly fantasy upside. The former second-round pick ranked No. 1 among QBs in rushing yards (784) and touchdowns (10) while adding 3,144 yards and 16 TDs through the air. He now has a true star weapon in wide receiver A.J. Brown finally at his disposal, which could help him make a major leap as a passer. If he does, he'll be looked back on as a huge value at his current overall ADP of 68. 1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
There's no question who the QB1 is heading into the 2022 season. Josh Allen ranked as the top quarterback in fantasy points scored in back-to-back years. He eclipsed the 400-point mark in 2021 after throwing for 4,407 yards and 36 TDs while adding 763 yards and another 6 TDs on the ground. Allen's dual-threat abilities while being 6-foot-5 and 237 pounds makes him one of the best fantasy options period. After suffering no major losses on offense, he should rival 2021's numbers once again. Check out Allen's 2022 fantasy football outlook here.
