3 Best NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 4
Updated:
Week 3 of the NFL season featured more mayhem once again as several underdogs pulled off upsets. This year's truly unexpected start around the league has likely left many survivor pools thin, so congrats if you're still alive at this point.
This season won't get any easier to predict. The Duel is here to help, though, with the three best NFL survivor pool picks for Week 4.
NFL Survivor Week 4 Picks
3. Dallas Cowboys (vs WAS)
We picked against Washington last week by suggesting the Eagles as your survivor choice, and we're going back to this well in Week 4. The Commanders' offense took advantage of soft matchups to begin the year, but they sputtered against a tough Philly defense, and things don't get any easier against the Cowboys. Dallas ranks No. 8 in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric and has held opponents to the ninth-fewest yards per game to open the season. Their offense, meanwhile, hasn't skipped a beat with Cooper Rush under center, recording a combined 728 yards across his two starts. Dallas' vicious pass rush should feast against a Washington offensive line that is tied for the most sacks allowed (15) so far.
2. Cleveland Browns (at ATL)
The Browns' offense is clicking on all cylinders to begin the year. They've racked up the fifth-most yards per game over the first three contests while notching at least 26 points in every outing so far. Nick Chubb is on a tear as the league's leading rusher, and Jacoby Brissett is proving to be better than expected as the team's starting QB. Now Cleveland draws an Atlanta team that is allowing its opponents to score at will. The Falcons have allowed the sixth-most PPG so far in 2022, and they struggle where the Browns excel, given they rank sixth-worst in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA metric. Cleveland's two-headed ground attack of Chubb and Kareem Hunt could carry the team to its third win.
1. Green Bay Packers (vs NE)
The Packers look like the most clear-cut survivor choice in Week 4. Green Bay just survived a heavyweight fight against Tampa Bay that should give them plenty of momentum to keep things going. Though the defense hasn't performed as expected, and the offense is hampered by injuries to its wide receivers, the Packers still have Aaron Rodgers and a star RB duo in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon to bank on. The Patriots, meanwhile, just lost quarterback Mac Jones to a severe ankle injury. That leaves journeyman Brian Hoyer to take over an offense that's far from intimidating. Hoyer has averaged a measly 231.8 yards and 1.1 touchdowns across 39 career starts, so it's very difficult to see him giving the Packers' talented defense any problems.
