Best NFL Prop Bets to Hit Contract Incentives and Milestones in Week 18
Updated:
Week 18, the final week of the NFL regular season is finally upon us. With games scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday and playoff lives and seeding on the line, the close-out week should be an exciting one.
One big aspect of the last week of each regular season is players attempting to reach certain milestones or contractual incentives in order to receive a bonus. So maybe a wideout is 4 catches short of reaching a certain number for the season that will trigger a nice big check hitting his bank account, or a running back needs one more touchdown or a certain number of rushing yards.
Year after year, we have seen teams, coaches, and quarterbacks do whatever they can to help these guys reach their goals in the last week of the season. This year should be no different.
NFL Week 18 Contract Incentive Prop Bets
Let's take a look at the three best player prop bets to hit in Week 18 based on contractual incentives and milestones, based on FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
1. Evan Engram Over 52.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Evan Engram needs 61 yards to earn a $200k bonus on his contract. That would hit this over no problem. Engram has shown some serious improvements in his first season with the Jaguars, although finally being consistently healthy probably has a lot to do with that too. He already has a career-high in catches, yards, and his second-best season of touchdowns. 61 yards would give him 800 this season. He has topped 61 yards in three of his last four games and even passed the 100 and 150-yard mark in two of those three games. Engram has been a favorite target for Trevor Lawrence during his breakout season, and what better way to improve their chemistry than for Lawrence to help Engram make $200k?
2. Isaiah McKenzie Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Isaiah McKenzie needs 46 yards to hit his contract incentive, which, again, would clearly this total easily. The Bills will be playing with a ton of emotion this week after all they've been through and with Damar Hamlin and his hopeful speedy recovery on their mind. Fighting for a shot at the No. 1 seed in Week 18, the Bills will be going all out in this one, and expect McKenzie to get his fair shot at breaking this milestone. While McKenzie hasn't hit this number in his last three games, he went well over it in the two before that. Needing just 46 yards, I would expect him to be targeted often to try and get the shifty and speedy veteran that bonus money.
3. Christian Kirk Over 62.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Christian Kirk needs 91 receiving yards to hit his $500k bonus. Yes, Evan Engram is also on this list and needs receiving yards of his own, but Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have done a great job spreading the ball around this season. They are also fighting for the AFC South crown against the Tennessee Titans, who own the worst pass defense in the NFL, surrendering an average of 279.3 passing yards per game, a number that can easily fit in both Engram and Kirk's props if the Jags have an average game against the Titans defense.
