Arcangelo Belmont Stakes Prediction and Pick
Arcangelo is a win contender that can pull off the upset at longer odds. He's an inclusion in exacta, trifecta and superfecta bets as an improving and maturing colt getting stronger like his sire, superstar Arrogate. Arcangelo lacks some foundation with just four starts (one stakes race), but Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Javier Castellano rides Arcangelo a third time.
This colt is improving and getting hot at the right time coming off his field-best late pace speed figure posted in the Peter Pan. His explosive final ⅛ mile of 11.75 seconds in the Peter Pan with balanced energy during the race suggests he can continue his form progression and strong training despite lacking two-turn race experience. He’ll be running mid-pack in the early going in the proximity of Hit Show and Tapit Trice, but Arcangelo has a bit more late turn of foot than that pair, which will be an advantage given the moderate pace expected.
Arcangelo looks like a live contender offering great value relative to his high Horse Racing Nation Super Screener score.
