Anthony Bradford Scouting Report
Bradford committed to LSU as a four-star recruit and appeared sparingly during his redshirt season (3 games). He earned on an increased role in 2020, taking part in seven games as a special teams player and reserve lineman. Bradford finally drew his first start as Tiger during the 2021 campaign.
The Michigan native started five of his six games played that season, playing both left tackle and right guard. He missed eight games with an injury and finished the year with 1 sack allowed across 163 pass block snaps. Bradford then gave up 4 sacks a 3 quarterback hits in 13 games played in 2022.
Highlighted strengths of Bradford's game focus on natural power. He is capable of driving defenders back in rushing plays as he uses his forward momentum as an advantage. The Tigers standout has been praised for an ability to anchor down in pass protection, which frustrates defensive linemen.
Bradford is far from a perfect prospect, though, as he is limited by his lateral agility. He tends to get beat by speedy defenders and that is a problem considering the elite pass-rushing talent that resides at the NFL level. Nevertheless, Bradford has the prototypial build of a lineman with room to improve.
Anthony Bradford NFL Draft Prediction
Bradford is not a lineman that is going to garner early-round consideration, but he could end up being a steal for a team in the later rounds. Putting in work in the weight room could help Bradford become a bit leaner and help him improve his lateral agility as a result. The opportunity to grow is clear here.
As for the best fit for Bradford, the Chiefs stick out as a logicl landing spot. Bradford is capable of being a swing lineman given he lined up at three different positions in college (RG, LG & LT). That could come in handy if head coach Andy Reid's squad was to suffer an injury along the offensive line.
Keep in mind the Chiefs hosted Bradford on a top-30 visit in early April after also meeting with him at the NFL Combine. Finding a depth option behind Joe Thuney and Trey Smith could prove to be the strategy. After all, it would likely only cost Kansas City a fourth-round pick to add Bradford to the mix.
Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs (Round 4, 122 or 134 overall)
