Andrei Iosivas Scouting Report
Andrei Iosivas made sure that he saved his best season for last at Princeton. In addition to catching a career-high 66 balls, Iosivas set new personal bests in receiving yards (943) and touchdowns (7) as well. The Honolulu, HI native was named first-team All-Ivy League for the first time due to his efforts.
Iosivas is an All-American track-and-field star who's in a good position to find a job in the NFL. He isn't the most physically imposing player, but his solid frame (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) helps him make catches in traffic. He's hard to take down when the ball is in his hands and he knows how to avoid tacklers with elusive moves.
Iosivas doesn't have the best hands, though, and tends to make catches with his body. He also doesn't create much separation, which is disappointing considering his track-and-field history. He'll need to show that he can run a bigger variety of routes as a pro as well.
Andrei Iosivas NFL Draft Prediction
While his draft stock varies, all five highlighted experts project Andrei Iosivas to be a Day 3 pick. He has a decent floor as a prospect, but his weak spots prevent his ceiling from being higher. NFL.com sees him having a career as an average backup WR.
The Carolina Panthers will need another wide receiver on the roster after taking a quarterback with the first overall selection. As it stands, their WR room is mainly composed of declining veteran Adam Thielen, the unproven Terrace Marshall, DJ Chark (three years removed from his last 1,000-yard season) and a bunch of replaceable names.
In other words, the Panthers have room for a player of Iosivas' skill set. Even if he doesn't have the highest upside, he can still be a reliable WR4/5 for the team. If he manages to live up to his potential, he'll be a reliable pass-catcher in Carolina's offense for years to come.
Prediction: Carolina Panthers (Round 5, 145th overall)
