Amon-Ra St. Brown Could Break Another NFL Record in Week 3

Updated:
Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of several young wide receivers putting on a show to kickstart the 2022 NFL season. The Detroit Lions wideout tied an NFL record with his sixth straight game of eight-plus catches and a touchdown over the weekend and now has a chance to break another record in Week 3.
Nicknamed "The Sun God," St. Brown now has eight-plus catches in each of his last eight games. If he can pull off the feat once more, he'll set a new NFL recorded after tying Michael Thomas and Antonio Brown for the mark last week.

Amassing eight catches is tough, but St. Brown makes it look easy. The 2021 fourth-rounder has developed immediate chemistry with quarterback Jared Goff, leading to the 22-year-old seeing an average of 11.4 targets over his last eight games.
What's even more impressive is St. Brown's stat line over that eight-game stretch. He's recorded 68 receptions for 740 yards and eight TDs in that time, which projects to a 145-1,573-17 stat line in a 17-game season.
Is that sustainable? Maybe not, but it certainly looks like it is with how the Anaheim Hills, CA native has been performing.
The good news for St. Brown is that his Lions face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. The former USC Trojan has already faced the Vikings twice in his career, averaging 8.5 receptions. He even recorded 10 receptions against them in Week 13 of the 2021 season.
Considering how Minnesota's secondary got torched by the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday and the fact that he's his team's No. 1 passing option, St. Brown has a terrific shot at making history.
Lions vs Vikings Week 3
FanDuel Sportsbook is listing the Lions as 5.5-point road underdogs against the Vikings in Week 3. Assuming things unfold in that direction, trailing would force Detroit to throw the ball more often, improving St. Brown's chances of joining the history books.
