Larry Fitzgerald Has More Tackles Than He Does Dropped Passes in His Hall of Fame Career

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is one of the best NFL receivers of all-time. He's a first-ballot Hall of Famer and is near the top of almost every major receiving category. 

But there's one stat from his illustrious career that jumps off the page and further proves how great a pass catcher he actually is -- Fitzgerald has more career tackles than he does dropped passes.

Fitzgerald has 29 career drops on 2,111 targets and 37 career tackles. Isn't that unbelievable? 

This is impressive in a few ways. First, a receiver having that many tackles. They don't get very many opportunities to make tackles, and in those instances – on an interception of a fumble – most wideouts are out of the play or quit on the play without even making an effort to make the tackle.

Second, is having less than 30 drops. To only have 29 drops with more than 2,100 targets is the definition of consistency. It proves that Fitzgerald has some of the surest hands in NFL history, not just compared to his current competition in today's NFL. 

Regardless of the wacky comparison, it's crazy to think that a wide receiver like Fitzgerald has 37 tackles by itself. Fitzgerald is a likely future, first-ballot Hall of Famer with 115 touchdowns, more than 16,000 receiving yards and 1,275 receptions. 

With a career full of incredible numbers, this is most certainly an impressive cherry on top that shouldn't go unnoticed.
