It's the start of a new era for the Raiders, as they move their home to Las Vegas, after previously playing games in Oakland and Los Angeles. Despite the move to a new market, the Raiders are one of the most historic teams in the NFL, with a rich history of quality players.

This includes a number of talented passers who have led the team to many winning seasons. These are the five best quarterbacks in Raiders history,

5. Daryle Lamonica (1967-74)

Daryle Lamonica was the Raiders first truly great quarterback, and he was an exciting one to watch. Earning the nickname "The Mad Bomber," Lamonica was always thinking touchdown, launching the ball deep. Despite being good at it, this strategy also hurt his overall completion percentage and interception rate. Still, Lamonica finished his Raiders career with a 62-16-6 record, passing for 148 touchdowns (second-most in Raiders history) and 16,655 yards (fourth-most in Raiders history). He led his team to three AFL titles, before the league merged with the NFL.

4. Derek Carr (2014-Present)

The current Raiders' quarterback arguably has the best stats in franchise history, but the question continues about whether or not Derek Carr can be the franchise quarterback going forward. His toughness has been questioned and his relationship with coach Jon Gruden is always under a microscope. What is clear is that his 22,793 passing yards are the most in franchise history, and his 64 percent completion rate is the best among quarterbacks with more than 35 pass attempts. He should also set the franchise record for passing touchdowns this season, with him currently sitting at 143 (seven shy of tying the record).

3. Rich Gannon (1999-2004)

Rich Gannon found success late in his career, after being paired with coach Gruden in Oakland. He led his team to three straight AFC West titles and to the Super Bowl, winning an MVP and being selected to two Pro Bowls along the way. In six seasons with the Raiders, Gannon finished a 45-29 record and 17,585 passing yards (third-most in Raiders history).

2. Jim Plunkett (1979-86)

One of the most overlooked quarterbacks to ever win a Super Bowl is Jim Plunkett, and he did it twice. The former first overall pick did not pan out with the New England Patriots or San Francisco 49ers, but he found success with the Raiders. He led the franchise to a 38-19 record, including the two aforementioned Super Bowl wins. He won MVP in one of the games, and he also won Comeback Player of the Year in 1980. Despite all of these accomplishments, he was never voted to a Pro Bowl.

1. Ken Stabler (1970-79)

The Hall of Fame quarterback spend his first 10 seasons with the Raiders. During this time, he was voted to four Pro Bowls and was named an All-Pro and MVP once. "The Snake" also became the first Raiders quarterback to bring home a Super Bowl win. Stabler finished his Raiders tenure with a 69-26-1 record and 17 game-winning drives. His 19,078 passing yards rank second all-time in franchise history, but his 150 passing touchdowns continue to be the high mark.
