3 Best Prop Bets for Lakers vs Suns on Dec. 19 (Deandre Ayton Dominates in Return)
Updated:
Two of the more star-studded teams in the Western Conference square off on Monday as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns. Both teams will be without several of their top players, however, as the Lakers are down LeBron James and Anthony Davis while the Suns will be without Devin Booker.
That opens up opportunities for other players to shine, however. With that in mind, here are three of the best prop bets for the Lakers-Suns game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.
Lakers-Suns Player Props
1. Deandre Ayton - Player Points: Over 20.5 (-105)
Ayton is expected to play after missing the last two games with an ankle injury and will look to pick up where he left off. Prior to being sidelined, Ayton had averaged 20.3 points over his previous 11 games, topping 20 in seven of those contests. Look for him to shoulder a heavy scoring load in his first game back with Phoenix's leading scorer (Booker) out. He should also feast in the paint without Davis there to stop him.
2. Lonnie Walker - Player Points: Over 17.5 (+100)
With James and Davis both out, Los Angeles will need Walker to step up on Monday. Walker has proven to be a solid scoring option all season, averaging a career-high 15.4 points per game. He just netted 21 points in 34 minutes against the Washington Wizards on Sunday and should be in for a similar workload on Monday, setting him up for another strong scoring night.
3. Deandre Ayton - Player Rebounds: Under 11.5 (-122)
While we like the over on Ayton's points prop on Monday, we think he goes under on his rebounds prop. This number is set a bit too high for him given that he's averaging 9.5 boards per game this season. He's done a better job rebounding lately but has still gone under this line in five of his last seven games, making the under the safer play here, especially if he doesn't see a full complement of minutes in his first game back from injury.
