3 Best Prop Bets for Heat vs Celtics NBA Playoffs Game 5 on May 25 (Caleb Martin Keeps Racking Up Points)
Updated:
Thursday's NBA Playoffs slate features an exciting Game 5 showdown between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston kept its season alive with a 116-99 road victory on Tuesday as Jayson Tatum guided the way with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.
Here are three of the best prop bets for Heat-Celtics Game 5, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Heat vs Celtics Game 5 Player Props
1. Caleb Martin - Points: Over 14.5 (-104)
There's been a number of interesting storylines to come out of this series so far, but the emergence of Caleb Martin is one that many people didn't see coming. The fourth-year pro out of Nevada has been head coach Erik Spoelstra's best player off the bench against the Celtics, averaging 18.5 points per game on an efficient 63.8% shooting percentage. He has tallied at least 15 points in each of his last four games and has drained 12 shots from beyond the arc during that span. With Gabe Vincent nursing an ankle injury, look for Spoelstra to run a tighter rotation and lean heavily on players like Martin to get the job done.
2. Kevin Love - Points + Rebounds: Under 10.5 (-120)
Kevin Love was a crucial veteran addition for the Miami Heat back in February, but his impact during the postseason has been subpar at best. The 34-year-old has seen his role decrease with each passing series and he has been on the court for an average of just 11.9 minutes per game against Boston. Love has now failed to post at least 11 points + rebounds in five of his last six playoff games overall and Jayson Tatum's willingness to target the Miami forward on defense has been a major mismatch. Look for Spoelstra's tight rotation to feature little action for Love in Game 5.
3. Derrick White - Made Threes: Over 2.5 (+126)
The Celtics' offense hasn't been able to keep up with the Heat's for the majority of this series, but that isn't because of Derrick White's efforts. The former Colorado standout has thrived in his role of hitting three-pointers, as he has now drained 3 shots from beyond the arc in five of his last six games. That makes this prop bet being listed at plus odds too hard to pass up. White has cashed this prop in nine of Boston's 17 playoff games and is seeing relaxed defense as Miami attempts to shut down Tatum & Jaylen Brown. That's a recipe for success.
