3 Best Prop Bets for Golden Knights vs Stars NHL Playoffs Game 3 on May 23 (Stephenson Keeps Driving Vegas' Attack)

Updated:

Tuesday's slate of NHL postseason action includes a Game 3 showdown between the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NHL odds list the Stars as -146 moneyline favorites at home with the projected total set at 5.5 goals.

Here are three of the best NHL player prop bets for the Golden Knights-Stars game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Odds

Chandler Stephenson

Over 0.5 Points

-118

Roope Hintz

Any Time Goal Scorer

+165

Miro Heiskanen

Under 2.5 Shots on Goal

-125

Here's a breakdown of why I like each bet.

1. Chandler Stephenson — Points: Over 0.5 (-118)

Chandler Stephenson continued his impressive postseason performance by scoring the overtime game-winning goal in Game 2. The former Regina Pat has now racked up 13 points in as many playoff outings, putting him in a good spot to hit the Over on this prop. Stephenson has tallied at least 1 point in both Games 1 and 2 and has only been held pointless five times in the postseason. He's also been known to go on streaks whenever he begins to heat up, recording points in consecutive outings 30 times since the beginning of the regular season. With Stephenson showing no signs of slowing down, I'm confident in him regarding this prop.

2. Roope Hintz — Any Time Goal Scorer (+165)

Roope Hintz has found a lot of success when it comes to this prop during the playoffs. Not only does the Stars sniper leads all active postseason players with 10 goals in 15 games, but he also paces the league with 8.8 goals created. Hintz has racked up 5 goals in his last six games, too, only being held off the scoresheet twice. Furthermore, the Finnish forward has scored in each of his last two home games and has amassed 29 of his 47 goals scored this year at American Airlines Center. With the Stars needing a win to prevent panic, look for Hintz to rise to the occasion.

3. Miro Heiskanen — Shots on Goal: Under 2.5 (-125)

Miro Heiskanen is one of the most offensively-gifted defensemen today, proven by his 10 points in 15 postseason games. While he's also a threat to give his team an offensive boost, a total of 2.5 shots on goal seems a bit high for him. For starters, Heiskanen is only averaging 1.7 shots per game in the playoffs. He's finished with the Under on this prop 10 times so far, which includes seven instances in his last nine outings. Even with Game 3 being in Dallas, Heiskanen is averaging just 1.6 shots at American Airlines Center in the playoffs. He'll still make his impact felt, but don't expect it to happen with a ton of shots.
