3 Best NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 6
Updated:
The trend of upsets this season continued in Week 5. If you've avoided any land mines to this point and remain in the running of your NFL survivor pool, congrats.
This season won't get any easier to gauge. The Duel is here to help, though, with the three best NFL survivor pool picks for Week 6.
NFL Survivor Picks Week 6
3. Los Angeles Rams (vs CAR)
Yes, it's been tough sledding for the Los Angeles Rams. They've also played two of the league's best defenses in back-to-back games. Things should get easier in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are in a state of disarray with an interim head coach at the helm and a new starting quarterback in PJ Walker due to injury. Walker has failed to light it up in two previous starts for Carolina -- posting a combined 425 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions -- and there's no reason to expect anything different from a turnover-prone backup who's thrown 8 INTs and just 2 TDs in his career. The Panthers' secondary is also banged up, opening up a golden opportunity for Matthew Stafford and the Rams' wide receivers to bounce back in a huge way.
2. Minnesota Vikings (@ MIA)
The Minnesota Vikings are riding a three-game win streak, and they should push it to four on Sunday. The Miami Dolphins are down to third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson as the starter, presenting a significant downgrade for this offense. Thompson didn't do much of anything in Week 5 after Teddy Bridgewater went down, recording a meager 166 yards and an interception on 33 attempts. This high-powered and healthy Vikings offense should be able to overwhelm the first-year signal-caller in his first career start.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ PIT)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the clear-cut top survivor choice in Week 6. Pittsburgh is coming off of a dismal showing this past Sunday that saw this Kenny Pickett-led offense post just three points against the shorthanded Buffalo Bills. Perhaps the even bigger problem from that game was the Steelers' defense, which couldn't stop anything and let the Bills rack up 38 points against them. Pittsburgh has given up at least 24 points in each of its three games, meanwhile its offense hasn't scored more than 20 during that same stretch. The Bucs, who are strong on both sides of the ball, should hand the Steelers their second blowout loss in a row with ease.
