Super Bowl Odds Update: The Reigning-Champion Chiefs Stay Strong

In the blink of an eye (or so it feels), half of the current NFL regular season has gone by.
With 9 of 18 weeks completed, the list of big-game contenders is beginning to more clearly emerge. At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Super Bowl odds still show the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers as the top-three favorites. From there, the Baltimore Ravens have established themselves as legitimate threats.
Staying in the AFC North, we have also seen the Cincinnati Bengals on the rise in recent weeks. Currently riding a four-game winning streak, can Cincy crawl out of the divisional cellar to make another playoff run?
Of course, not all sides around the NFL are faring well. The Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans are each coming off dejecting losses in Week 9.
Ahead of NFL Week 10 (which starts with Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football), let's dive into the latest Super Bowl LVIII lines.

Notable Jumps
Kansas City Chiefs
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +490
Last Week: +500
All hail the mighty, reigning-champion Chiefs. Returning stateside after a win in Frankfurt over the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City will get to enjoy their bye week at 7-2 straight up (SU). As usual, the Chiefs sit atop the AFC West standings, relentlessly in pursuit of their record eighth-straight division crown.
2022-23 AP NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes is still playing fantastic football this season despite Kansas City's lower-than-usual 23.1 PPG at the moment. Mahomes is sporting a QBR of 72.6 in 2023, which is third-best in the league right now.
Mahomes' favorite target Travis Kelce has also been top notch in the current campaign. Other than a slow game overseas, Kelce has done well to score four touchdowns in 2023 along with a 79.2% catch rate. However, it has largely been the Chiefs defense that has led the way this year.
Allowing a smuggling figure of 15.9 PPG in 2023, K.C. is fresh off stifling the NFL's No. 1 offense in Miami, holding the 'Fins to just 14 points and less than 300 yards of production. Simply, the defensive front of Chris Jones, Michael Danna and George Karlaftis has been vicious, each of whom have more than five sacks this season.
Right now, the Chiefs are tied for second-most sacks (31) in the NFL.
Baltimore Ravens
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +850
Last Week: +1200
As alluded to in the introduction, Baltimore is currently on a tear. Like Cincy, the Ravens have won their past four games, using complete team efforts in each one. At the moment, Baltimore boasts the No. 1 defense in terms of scoring (13.8 PPG). On offense, quarterback Lamar Jackson leads a perpetually improving and evolving attack.
Overall, the 7-2 Ravens are viewed favorably on numberFire's power rankings. Their model has Baltimore (10.82 nERD) fifth in the league, which is actually one spot better than Kansas City. In this moment, I don't think it is too crazy to place the Ravens above the Chiefs.
I mentioned that K.C. has been getting after opposing quarterbacks, but Baltimore might be a beat more tenacious right now. The Ravens' 35 sacks lead the league through nine weeks, and Baltimore defensive tackle Justin Madubuike has burst out for 7.5 of those so far.
Back on O, Jackson has done well to reinvigorate the group. His passing accuracy has noticeably improved, showing a career-best completion clip of 71.5%. From there, three-time Pro Bowler Mark Andrews has been brilliant as usual, leading all tight ends with six scores.
Upcoming, the Ravens have a street fight at home against the Cleveland Browns. These division rivals have met once already this season; Baltimore kept Cleveland out of the end zone in that game, winning on the road 28-3.
Steep Drops
Atlanta Falcons
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +9500
Last Week: +7500
At home, the Falcons recently fell below .500 on the season. To make matters worse, last Sunday's loss came versus the Minnesota Vikings one week after Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles. To further compound frustrations, Atlanta was bested by a quarterback who literally just arrived via emergency trade: Joshua Dobbs.
Having played to a 4-5 record, the Falcons will need to quickly turn a new leaf. Head coach Arthur Smith has already changed signal-callers once this season, going from the second-year Desmond Ridder to veteran Taylor Heinicke. For what it's worth, the 28 points scored in Week 9 under Heinicke is Atlanta's highest total of 2023 so far.
With a respectable defense and quality skill players, the Falcons actually have potential in the current campaign. Atlanta is surrendering only 304 yards per game (YPG) right now; that is the sixth-best clip in the NFL. The Falcons have been particulary stout against the run, allowing 3.8 yards per carry and just two rushing scores on the year.
Dynamic receiver Drake London (groin) probably won't play again in Week 10 at the Arizona Cardinals, but perhaps Kyle Pitts or Bijan Robinson has a major performance? Either way, Atlanta's offense needs rhythm.
Tennessee Titans
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +19000
Last Week: +12000
Currently sitting in last place of the AFC South, Tennessee has shown the good, the bad and the ugly this season. Just two years removed from back-to-back divisional titles, the Titans are 3-5 in 2023. Right now, their weakness seems to be on offense as Nashville's team shows a lowly scoring clip of 18.5 PPG (24th in the league).
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been out of action since enduring a high-ankle injury back in Week 6. Since then, rookie signal-caller Will Levis has taken both starts, going 1-1 along the way. The rook is completing over 60% of his passes to go with a 4:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio, but he struggled last Thursday at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Naturally, it will be a work-in-progress with Levis at the helm. Often, the jump is always largest from NCAAF to the NFL for quarterbacks in particular. Still, Levis appears to have the poise and arm strength to be successful as a professional.
This will likely be head coach Mike Vrabel toughest season since taking over in Nashville. The defense is playing well by giving up only 20.0 PPG, but the team has lost three of their last four contests. With two games in Florida over the next two weeks, Tennessee's path does not get any easier until returning home in Week 12.
