With the Super Bowl right around the corner, there are going to be plenty of interesting betting markets to choose from. Among the endless number of unique betting markets, FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a fastest ball carrier bet for the upcoming Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
To locate the fastest ball carrier bet, you'll have to find the "game props" tab on FanDuel Sportsbook. Once you go into the "game props" tab, there will be a wager called "fastest offensive ball carrier recorded - NextGenStats".
While taking into consideration that only offensive players are available, let's take a look at the best bets in the fastest ball carrier market for this year's Super Bowl.
Super Bowl Betting: Fastest Ball Carrier Best Bets
Here are the players with the 10-shortest odds to be the fastest ball carrier in this year's Super Bowl.
Deebo Samuel (+590)
The two players with the best odds (+590) to be the fastest ball carrier in this year's Super Bowl are Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel. Even though McCaffrey recorded the fastest speed (20.92 mph) among players on the Chiefs and the 49ers this season, per NextGenStats, Samuel registered a top-10 speed the most times (4).
Samuel posted the third-fastest (20.70 mph), sixth-fastest (20.45 mph), and 10th-fastest (20.23 mph, twice) speed of the offensive players in this year's Super Bowl. With an average depth of target (aDOT) of 6.5 yards and a league-best 8.9 yards after the catch per reception, the versatile wideout for the 49ers sees plenty of opportunities where he can get out in open space to make plays.
According to PFF, the Chiefs have five defensive players who have surrendered at least 200 yards after the catch this season. Given Samuel's role in San Fran's aerial attack, betting on him to be the fastest ball carrier in the Super Bowl seems like an ideal choice.
Isiah Pacheco (+680)
Isiah Pacheco runs with such ferocity when he has the ball in his hands that it looks like he's furious at the ground. The second-year back has earned an expanded role for the Chiefs this season, handling 15-plus rushing attempts in eight of his last nine games (including each of Kansas City's three playoff games).
While the 49ers have Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw patrolling the middle of the field, their defense is producing the third-worst rushing success rate (55.9%) in the NFL. At the same time, Pacheco has notched the second-fastest (20.76 mph), fourth-fastest (20.56 mph), and seventh-fastest (20.39 mph) speeds across all of the skill players on the Chiefs and the 49ers.
Getting out in open space and having a chance to gain momentum seems to be crucial when betting on the fastest ball carrier. Being that Pacheco could break a couple of runs loose on San Francisco's defense in this year's Super Bowl, the aggressive runner provides some value in this market.
Rashee Rice (+730)
If Patrick Mahomes isn't connecting with Travis Kelce through the air, there's a decent chance the ball is going to Rashee Rice. The first-year wideout has evolved into a go-to weapon for the Chiefs, logging the second-highest target share (27.5%), second-most receiving yards per game (74.3), and second-most yards per route run (2.42) on the team throughout these playoffs.
Rice has tallied an aDOT of only 4.8 yards this postseason, and he trails only Samuel in yards after the catch per reception at 8.4 yards. Delivering quick passes and letting Rice generate yards with his rushing ability has become a staple of Kansas City's offense down the stretch.
The SMU Mustangs product has clocked in with the fifth-fastest (20.54 mph), ninth-fastest (20.25 mph), and 10th-fastest (20.23 mph) speeds among players taking part in this year's Super Bowl. With Rice capable of breaking tackles and getting out in the open field at any moment, I love taking him at these odds to be the fastest ball carrier.
