NHL Player Prop Bets to Target on Friday 1/12/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Travis Konecny

To Score a Goal (+160)

The Philadelphia Flyers will look to get the offense going versus the Minnesota Wild tonight.

The Wild are dealing with a few injuries right now and it's caused their defense to slip in recent weeks, giving the Flyers a clear path to scoring tonight. Over the last two weeks, the Wild are allowing the 10th most (3.01) goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which puts Travis Konecny in a great spot.

Konecny leads the Flyers with 21 goals, and has been hot as of late with 5 goals, 6 assists, and 41 shots on goal in his last 10 games.

A role on the top forward line and the first power-play unit put Konecny in a spot to jump on a weakened defense and find the back of the net.

Tyler Seguin

Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+108)

A 6.5 over/under between the Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators should offer plenty of scoring chances.

Over the last two weeks, both teams are in the top five of the NHL for Total Shot Attempts Created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. When they get into the offensive zone, they are constantly looking to fire the puck at the net and generate scoring chances.

This can create a very back-and-forth game environment, which is conducive for shot props.

This leads me to Tyler Seguin, who skates on the second forward line and the second power-play unit. That has allowed him to rack up 29 shots on goal over his last 10 games.

Good odds and a strong level of consistency make Seguin a clear target on tonight's slate.
