NFL Survivor Picks for Week 9: The Public Is Turning to the Saints and Browns
There aren't many more crucial things than nailing your NFL survivor picks, so we're here to help.
Based on numberFire's NFL survivor matrix, here are some of the best NFL survivor picks for Week 9.
NFL Survivor Picks for Week 9
These are the top five teams by expected win probability, according to numberFire's model.
- Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys
- Philadelphia is favored by 3.0 points against the Cowboys. It's a divisional game, so it's usually a situation to avoid when possible for survivor purposes. Additionally, the Eagles have been a top-10 public pick each week, so they may be off your board by now. If not, they have four more top-three weeks by win probability projected forward. Either way, numberFire's model loves the Birds this week.
- New Orleans Saints vs. Chicago Bears
- The Saints are 7.5-point favorites against the reeling Bears and are expected to be a very popular public play. They have a good Week 14 and 15 stretch, so there are some weeks left to use them. For those playing it safe, New Orleans makes sense in Week 9 against Chicago.
- Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings
- The Vikings will be without QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles), and the Falcons are 4.5-point home favorites as a result. Atlanta has just one projected week with a higher win probability remaining (Week 15) compared to this week.
- Baltimore Ravens vs. Seattle Seahawks
- As 5.5-point favorites, the Ravens deserve a long look for those who still have them to pick from. Baltimore is a pretty under-the-radar team this week because we've got the Saints and Browns in action. With all that in mind, numberFire's model gives them an 80.0% chance or better to win each of their next three games. If you have saved Baltimore so far and have other options, you can turn to them soon enough.
- Cleveland Browns vs. Arizona Cardinals
- The Cardinals traded QB Josh Dobbs to the Vikings, and rookie Clayton Tune is expected to start for Arizona. That means a road matchup against a defense that ranks first in adjusted defense, per numberFire's metrics, for Tune. The Browns are favored by 7.5 points.
