4 FanDuel NFL Values to Target in Week 10

Finding value is a key part of daily fantasy football on FanDuel. We need to identify the low-salary players who have the potential to pay huge dividends, which allows you to play studs elsewhere in your lineup.

As always, we're looking at players on the main slate, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. All betting odds come from the NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks

FanDuel Salary: $6,900

Things have been rough, to say the least, for Geno Smith this season. He's eclipsed 20 FanDuel points just once and has thrown seven interceptions -- six of which have come in the last four games.

But, fear not. Better days are on the horizon for the reigning Comeback Player of the Year.

And by "on the horizon" I mean "coming this week" because Geno's Seattle Seahawks play host to the Washington Commanders. Washington had a putrid defense before they shipped out Montez Sweat and Chase Young. Now?

Well, they still rank 30th in EPA per dropback and 31st in adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Now, they've lost one of the few things they did well on defense -- pressure. Though they still rank 16th in pressure rate (35.3%) and 17th in sack rate (6.9%) overall, they generated just two pressures and recorded zero sacks last week.

That bodes well for Geno. Per PFF, his completion percentage (52.6% to 72.8%) and yards per attempt (5.5 to 8.1) rise substantially in a clean pocket compared to when pressured.

That should provide Smith with a healthy floor, but the potential for big plays is what really makes him an enticing DFS value. Geno was arguably the best deep passer in the league last season, and he's been nearly as good this season. He's attempted the sixth-most deep passes (37) and posted the fourth-highest completion percentage (43.2%).

Those deep balls could come early and often against a Commanders defense that's allowed the fourth-most deep targets (107) and the 10th-most deep yards per target (11.2).

Given his strong receiving core and the lack of pressure coming his way, expect Geno to hit on a few deep throws this weekend. He's a solid value considering the low salary.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings

FanDuel Salary: $6,200

Listen, I'll be the last person to advocate for Alexander Mattison being a good running back. I pegged him as a bust in season-long formats prior to the year, and that prediction has largely held true.

Mattison has a putrid 34.4% rushing success rate and has averaged -0.6 rushing yards over expectation (RYOE) per carry. Latavius Murray, A.J. Dillon, and Tyler Allgeier are just a handful of the multitude of backs to post better success rates and RYOE numbers than Mattison.

Not great, Bob!

But, volume is king and Mattison doesn't have much (if any) competition in this Minnesota Vikings backfield now that Cam Akers is out for the year.

That's especially true given how capable Joshua Dobbs has looked this season. Dobbs helped James Conner average 11.1 FanDuel points per game from Weeks 1-5, and I think that's a pretty safe projection for Mattison going forward.

Mattison draws the New Orleans Saints this week. New Orleans has surrendered a league-average 0.58 adjusted FanDuel points per carry to opposing running backs this season, so they're not that dangerous of an opponent.

Even in a tough matchup, Mattison's $6,200 salary is a real value if he's going to continue to garner 20.9 adjusted opportunities (carries plus 2x targets) per game.

Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans

FanDuel Salary: $6,400

Easily my favorite value this week is Tank Dell. The rookie wideout exploded for 26.6 FanDuel points last week, securing six of his 11 targets for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Most encouraging from last week's breakout was his utilization profile. Dell ran a route on a team-leading 84.4% of dropbacks and saw team-highs in target share (28.9%) and air -ard share (54.9%).

That marked the second consecutive week Dell has led or tied for the team lead in route participation. What's so important about the last two weeks?

The Houston Texans were off in Week 7, and Dell wouldn't be the first rookie wideout to hit his stride after his team's bye.

The sky's the limit for a speedster, who already has three 20-plus FanDuel point games this season.

This week, Dell takes on the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy has a sound defensive scheme, but they've quietly surrendered the 13th-most adjusted fantasy points per target (1.40) and the highest average depth of target (13.4) to opposing wide receivers.

It doesn't hurt that the Texans travel to Cincinnati as 6.5-point underdogs in a game with the weekend's second-highest total (47).

With the potential for a negative game script, Tank Dell can produce for the second consecutive week. He's one of the clearest values on the board.

Trey McBride, TE, Arizona Cardinals

FanDuel Salary: $5,100

The Trey McBride hype died off a bit after a 3.7-point outing last week, but don't let a down performance with Clayton Tune under center against the Cleveland Browns sway your opinion too much. Trey McBride is still an intriguing up-and-coming tight end -- one whose quarterback situation and matchup are drastically improved in Week 10.

Kyler Murray is expected to make his season debut this week. With Murray under center, Zach Ertz saw a 19.5% target share and averaged 10.0 FanDuel points per game last season. I don't think it's crazy to project similar production from McBride even in Kyler's first game back.

That's because McBride and the Arizona Cardinals get a real treat this week -- a date with the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta has let up the highest target rate (23.6%), the 12th-highest catch rate (74.3%), and the seventh-most yards per route run (1.50) to opposing tight ends this season.

McBride, meanwhile, has run a route on 78.8% of dropbacks over the last two weeks with Ertz out of the picture.

The matchup is glorious, but the salary is low. Even if Kyler takes his lumps in his first game back, McBride should have a steady floor against a Falcons defense that funnels targets to tight ends.
