2024's Marquee College Football Games: Betting Odds for 11 Must-See Contests

The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Washington Huskies in the National Championship, bringing a close to the 2023-2024 college football season. Even with the national champions just being crowned, FanDuel Sportsbook is already offering odds on marquee games for next season.

Let's take an early look at the 11 college football contests that are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Florida State at Georgia Tech

  • Florida State Moneyline: -480
  • Georgia Tech Moneyline: +360
  • Spread: Florida State (-12.5)
  • Total: 52.5

The Florida State Seminoles recorded a 13-1 record this season, and their lone defeat came in a 63-3 loss to the Georgia in the Orange Bowl. Things were going smoothly for Florida State before quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending knee against North Alabama in the team's 11th game of the campaign.

Travis won't be returning to the Seminoles, but Florida State landed Oregon State transfer D.J. Uiagalelei to play quarterback next season. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were trounced 41-16 by Florida State early in the 2023 season.

North Dakota State at Colorado

  • North Dakota State Moneyline: +225
  • Colorado Moneyline: -280
  • Spread: Colorado (-7.5)
  • Total: 59.5

Entering the 2023-2024 season, the Colorado Buffaloes carried a ton of hype due to the arrival of Deion Sanders as head coach. Despite starting the season with three consecutive wins, Colorado would fizzle out the rest of the way, finishing the season with a 4-8 record.

The Buffaloes have become a polarizing football team in the college landscape, and Shedeur Sanders is expected to return under center for the 2024-2025 season.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M

  • Notre Dame Moneyline: +122
  • Texas A&M Moneyline: -146
  • Spread: Texas A&M (-3)
  • Total: 50.5

After registering a 10-3 record with a win over Oregon State in the Sun Bowl, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will have Duke transfer Riley Leonard leading the offense next season following the departure of Sam Hartman. Head coach Marcus Freeman will be entering his third year with the Fighting Irish in 2024.

On the other hand, the Texas A&M Aggies have replaced Jimbo Fisher with Mike Elko -- who spent the past two seasons at Duke -- at head coach.

Clemson at Georgia

  • Clemson Moneyline: +350
  • Georgia Moneyline: -465
  • Spread: Georgia (-11.5)
  • Total: 48.5

Before blowing out Florida State 63-3 in the Orange Bowl, quarterback Carson Beck announced he would be returning to the Georgia Bulldogs in 2024. Kirby Smart will have the Bulldogs motivated next season after they fell short of clinching one of the four spots in the college football playoffs this season.

The Clemson Tigers have lost three or more games in three consecutive years under Dabo Swinney following a stint from 2015-2019 where the Tigers advanced to four National Championship games.

LSU at USC

  • LSU Moneyline: -215
  • USC Moneyline: +176
  • Spread: LSU (-6)
  • Total: 65.5

Both the LSU Tigers and the USC Trojans are slated to lose their starting quarterbacks from this season. Jayden Daniels -- the reigning Heisman Trophy winner -- has seen his 2024 draft stock skyrocket while Caleb Williams is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick.

Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley will have different quarterbacks operating their offenses next season, and they'll both be hoping to see a little more production from their defensive units.

Texas at Michigan

  • Texas Moneyline: -108
  • Michigan Moneyline: -111
  • Spread: Michigan (-1)
  • Total: 49.5

The Texas Longhorns fell short in the College Football Playoff this season, losing 37-31 to the Huskies in the Sugar Bowl. Quinn Ewers is expected to return as the quarterback of Texas in 2024, but Michigan could be undergoing a bevy of changes in the coming months.

Besides the chance of Jim Harbaugh going back to the NFL, the Wolverines are losing quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the pros.

Georgia at Alabama

  • Georgia Moneyline: -110
  • Alabama Moneyline: -110
  • Spread: Alabama (-1)
  • Total: 53.5

We've gotten some exciting contests between Georgia and the Alabama Crimson Tide in recent years. The Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs 27-24 in the SEC title game this season, but it was Georgia who defeated Alabama in the National Championship in the meeting before that.

Both teams are expected to be returning their quarterbacks in 2024, as Beck will lead the Bulldogs and Jalen Milroe is projected to be back for the Crimson Tide.

Michigan at Washington

  • Michigan Moneyline: -360
  • Washington Moneyline: +280
  • Spread: Michigan (-10)
  • Total: 51.5

There is already a rematch of this year's National Championship on the docket for next season. The Wolverines are uncertain about who will be back in 2024, as Harbaugh and McCarthy could both be headed to the NFL.

Meanwhile, the Huskies will be losing quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and standout wide receiver Rome Odunze to the NFL.

Ohio State at Oregon

  • Ohio State Moneyline: -102
  • Oregon Moneyline: -118
  • Spread: Oregon (-1.5)
  • Total: 58.5

The Ohio State Buckeyes entered the final week of their regular season with an 11-0 record ahead of a crucial showdown against the Wolverines, but Ohio State would lose back-to-back games to end the season. Kyle McCord has transferred, and stud wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. is slated to be one of the first names announced in the 2024 NFL draft.

Dan Lanning has led the Oregon Ducks to 10-plus wins in back-to-back seasons, but quarterback Bo Nix is making his way to the NFL.

Georgia at Ole Miss

  • Georgia Moneyline: -164
  • Ole Miss Moneyline: +136
  • Spread: Georgia (-3.5)
  • Total: 54.5

While tight end Brock Bowers is going to hear his name called early in the 2024 NFL draft, the Bulldogs are going to have Beck back under center in 2024. Smart has recruited well for Georgia, and there's no reason to believe he won't field a dominant squad again next season.

Lane Kiffin is expected to have Jaxson Dart return as his quarterback in 2024-2025 for the Mississippi Rebels.

Michigan at Ohio State

  • Michigan Moneyline: +138
  • Ohio State Moneyline: -166
  • Spread: Ohio State (-3.5)
  • Total: 49.5

The books seemingly believe changes are in store for Michigan, and they are placing confidence in Ohio State in this Big Ten rivalry game. Both teams will have new quarterbacks orchestrating their offenses next season, so there is a ton of uncertainty surrounding this marquee matchup.

It should be noted that the Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes in the last three meetings.
