UFC 264 Fight Card Preview
The Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor trilogy bout is set to happen on July 10 at UFC 264.
The UFC’s biggest star returns to the cage to avenge his second-round knockout defeat to Poirier in January at UFC 257.
Poirier stunned fans with a brilliant second-round knockout finish and stopped the former two-division champion in his tracks. McGregor had entered the bout as a -290 betting favorite but it was the +254 underdog who came out on top in the rematch.
The UFC 254 betting odds are much closer for the third bout with the fight at near-even odds as we approach July 10.
Dustin Poirier has now won seven of his last eight fights, ignoring the no contest bout against Eddie Alvarez in 2017. With consecutive wins against Dan Hooker and McGregor, Poirier was arguably first in line for the next shot at the UFC Lightweight Championship but he passed on the opportunity and instead accepted the offer to fight McGregor for the third time.
McGregor’s defeat to Poirier earlier this year means that he’s now lost two of his last three bouts in the UFC and has won just once since 2016. McGregor’s lone win was against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone who is well outside of title contention in 2021 and speaks to the massive improvements that Poirier has made over the years.

UFC Fight Cards
UFC pay-per-view (PPV) fight cards can be identified by the event name, which includes a number.
With UFC 250 now in the books, the promotion has now passed 250 official PPV events.
They reserve the best fights of the night until the main card. A PPV main card streams on ESPN+ in the United States and can only be viewed after purchasing the event for $64.99.
The most well-known fighters in mixed martial arts compete only at UFC PPV events, and that means fans must order it to watch the likes of Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Jon Jones, and most UFC title fights.
UFC Fight Night Card
A UFC Fight Night card is a non-PPV fight card that streams exclusively on the ESPN+ digital streaming service.
The prelims, early prelims, and main card can all be streamed online. While these events do not regularly host UFC title fights, the main event of a UFC Fight Night card is commonly one that has title implications. For example, Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker-- two high-ranked lightweight contenders -- recently battled in the main event of UFC Fight Night event at the UFC APEX facility.
UFC on ESPN Fight Card
These cards take place on ESPN, and the main card can be viewed without an ESPN+ subscription.
These fight cards are normally packed with more significant fights than the UFC Fight Night events considering that the UFC wants to showcase some of its most exciting fights and fighters on the ESPN platform.
