Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Leon Draisaitl Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-114)

With a chance to close out their series tonight, the Edmonton Oilers need to bring their best against the Los Angeles Kings.

A commanding 3-1 series can turn quickly with a loss tonight, so the Oilers should stay the course and do what's worked for them to this point in the series.

They lean on their top players and it leads to good results, which is where Leon Draisaitl comes into the fold.

Draisaitl leads the team with 17 shots on goal through four games, noticeably higher than Connor McDavid, who has just 10. The Kings are sending their best defensive forward line to match up McDavid, which simply leaves Draisaitl with an easier matchup that he has been able to exploit thus far.

Keep things simple with over 2.5 shots for Draisaitl tonight.

Jonathan Marchessault Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-148)

The Vegas Golden Knights need to get things going in the right direction after losing the last two games.

Starting a series by taking two games on the road is fantastic, but proceeding to drop the next two while at home is a tough look. That's where we see the Golden Knights, who need to bounce back and look for the win tonight.

Jon Audy-Marchessault has been solid for Vegas thus far, going over this prop in three of the four games. His time on the first forward line and the second power-play will continue to put him in a good spot to produce.

His team-high 15 shots on goal through the first four games are no fluke and well worth targeting tonight.
